Deoria Tal is a lake which is about 3 km from the villages of Masturi and sari on the Ukhimath -Chopta road is the state of Uttarakhand in India. Deoria Tal lies in the Kedarnath Musk Deer Sanctuary. Deoria Tal is located at a height of approx. 2500 meters above sea level. During early morning, on a clear day Deoria Tal blesses tourists with amazing reflections of Chankhamba peaks on the crystal clear lake water. For beginners, Deoria Tal is an easy place for the weekend trekkers. The trek expands from Bisuri Tal,Chopta via Rohini Bugyal and even to Tunganath and Chandrasila. The lake is known for its wide 300 degree panoramic view of mountains like Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Bandarpunch, Kedar range and Kalanag. Hindus believe that the Devas bath in this lake, hence it is named as Deoria Tal. The lake is also believed to be the " Indra Sarovar " reffered to in the Puranas by wandering Hindu sandhus. It is believed that it was the place where Yaksha interrogated the Pandavas. According to locals, to appease his thirst Yudhisthir suggested Bheem to his own lake.
Dehradun is the nearest airport to Deotia Tal which is approx 210 Km. From the airport travel to Sari village and 3 Km trek to Deoria Tal. Tourist can easily book cabs for travel to Deoria Tal.
The road is well connected with the northern states through motorable roads. Rented taxis to Sari, then 03 Km trek to Deoria Tal. Buses from Anand Vihar bus terminus, proceed from Delhi to Rudra Prayag are available from there hire a cab to Sari, followed by Trek.
Haridwar is the nearest railway station which is 218 Km away. Rented cabs are available from the Haridwar railway station.
